余白の錬金術 – 空白が成立させる確信

洋服屋人生24年と52日。
ここまで来て、ようやく腑に落ちた言葉がある――「余白」。

強く握りしめるほど、指の間から大事なものはこぼれていく。
予定を詰め、結果を急ぎ、正解だけを追う日々は、
確かに前へ進ませる。
けれど同時に、心の呼吸を浅くする。

だから今は、あえて余白を残す。
余白は”逃げ”じゃない。
“整えるための強さ”だ。

一杯のコーヒーを淹れる時間。
窓際に落ちる光を眺める数分。
プリンに生クリームを添えて、甘さをゆっくり受け取る瞬間。
そんな小さな間（ま）が、仕事の精度を上げる。
人の言葉をまっすぐ受け止められる心をつくる。

余白があると、選ぶ眼が澄む。
どんなレザーが今の自分に必要か。
どんな色が今日の気分を支えるか。
“良い服”は、忙しさの中では見えにくい。
静けさの中でしか、輪郭は立ち上がらない。

そしてもう一つ。
余白があると、人に優しくなれる。
急がない。
乱れない。
背伸びもしない。

ゆっくり、真っすぐ、優しく、少し甘く――
そうやって過ごしていきたい。

男は言い訳より、姿勢で語る。
詰め込むより、磨く。
足すより、削る。

今日も、勝負の場を整える。
余白を携えて、いつも通りに、淡々と。
その”淡々”の中にこそ、品と強さが宿ると信じている。

24 years and 52 days in the clothing business.
Only now has a word finally settled deep in my bones: “margin.”

The tighter you grip,
the more the important things slip through your fingers.
Packing the schedule, rushing results,
chasing only the “right answer” —
it does push you forward.
But at the same time, it makes your breathing shallow.

So now, I leave margin on purpose.
Margin isn’t “escape.”
It’s strength for restoring order.

Time to brew a cup of coffee.
A few minutes watching the light fall by the window.
The moment you add fresh cream to pudding
and receive the sweetness slowly.
Those small pauses sharpen the precision of your work.
They build a heart that can take
in other people’s words straight.

With margin, your eye clears.
What kind of leather do I need right now?
What color supports today’s mood?
“Good clothes”
are hard to see in the middle of constant busyness.
Their outline rises only in quiet.

And there’s one more thing.
With margin, you become kinder.

You don’t rush.
You don’t fall apart.
You don’t overreach.

Slowly — straight — gently — with a touch of sweetness.
That’s how I want to live.

A man speaks more through posture than excuses.
Rather than cramming in, refine.
Rather than adding, carve away.

Today, again, I set the stage for the match.
Carrying margin, as always, calmly — steadily.
I believe it’s inside that steadiness
that elegance and strength truly take root.
