年に数回。

決まった挨拶回りを終えて、
最後はいつも、びっくりドンキー。

もう何年続いているのか、
正直わからない。

行く場所も同じ。

Itoと向かい合い、
たわいもない話をして、
くだらないことで笑う。

特別なことは何もない。

けれど、
こういう時間ほど、
あとから深く残る。

変わらない場所があるから、
人は安心して変わり続けられる。

流行も、
街も、
人の景色も変わっていく。

それでも、
一緒に笑える時間がある。

それだけで、
人生はずいぶん豊かだ。

あははと笑いながら食べる、
びっくりドンキー。

今日もきっと、
いつか大切な記憶になる。

人生は面白い。

同じ場所に帰り続けられることが、
実は何より贅沢なのかもしれない。

A few times each year.

After making the usual rounds of greetings,
the final stop is always Bikkuri Donkey.

Honestly,
I’ve lost count of how many years
this has been going on.

The destination never changes.

I sit across from Ito,
talk about nothing in particular,
and laugh at the most trivial things.

Nothing special happens.

And yet,

these are the moments
that stay with you the longest.

Because there are places that never change,
people can keep changing without fear.

Trends change.

Cities change.

The scenery of life changes too.

Still,

there are moments
when we can simply laugh together.

And that alone
makes life remarkably rich.

Laughing over a meal
at Bikkuri Donkey.

Maybe today, too,

will become
one of those memories
that quietly remains.

Life is fascinating.

Perhaps the greatest luxury of all
is having a place
you can keep returning to.
