Californicationの最初のコレクション。
その始まりを、Alto e Dirittoとのダブルネームでつくった。

最初だからこそ、奇をてらわない。
選んだのは、デニムという普遍と、BLACKという色。
先染めのBLACK DENIMを、さらにBLACKでオーバーダイした13ozのセルビッジストレッチデニム。
リベット、ボタン、ファスナー、レザーパッチまで、黒で揃えた。

ヴィンテージを、そのまま再現するためではない。
残すべき構造は残し、いまの身体と、いまのスタイリングへ置き換えるために。

01-STRAIGHT.

REGULAR / SLIM / WIDE。
3つの中で、最もニュートラルな位置にある一本。

細すぎず、太すぎない。
腰まわりと腿には必要な分量を残し、膝下から裾まで過度に絞らず、まっすぐ落とす。
身体の線を拾いすぎない一方で、ルーズにも見せない。

SLIMほど線を絞らず、WIDEほど身体から離さない。
そのどちらにも寄らないことが、01-STRAIGHTの強さだと思う。

Tシャツだけでもいい。
レザージャケットを着ても、テーラードを合わせても、デニムだけが先に見えない。
穿く人と、上に着る服を受け止めるためのストレート。

定番を昔の形へ戻すのではなく、
現在のバランスで、もう一度つくる。

Californication’s first collection.
Its beginning was created in collaboration with Alto e Diritto.

Precisely because it is the first, there was no need to overstate it.
We chose something universal: denim, and the color BLACK.
A 13oz selvedge stretch denim, yarn-dyed in BLACK and then overdye-finished once again in BLACK.
Even the rivets, buttons, zipper, and leather patch are unified in black.

This is not about simply recreating vintage denim.
The structures worth preserving remain, while everything else has been translated for the body and styling of today.

01-STRAIGHT.

REGULAR / SLIM / WIDE.
Of the three silhouettes, this is the most neutral.

Neither too slim nor too wide.
There is enough room through the waist and thigh, while the line falls straight from the knee to the hem without excessive tapering.
It does not trace the body too closely, yet never looks loose.

It does not narrow the line like SLIM, nor move away from the body like WIDE.
That refusal to lean too far in either direction is what gives 01-STRAIGHT its strength.

It works with nothing more than a T-shirt.
It works with a leather jacket, and it works with tailoring without the denim taking over the entire look.
A straight silhouette designed to support both the wearer and whatever is worn above it.

Not to return a classic to the past,
but to rebuild it in the balance of today.
