Californicationが最初に選んだBLACK DENIM。
そのファーストコレクションを、Alto e Dirittoとのダブルネームでつくった。

先染めした黒の上から、もう一度BLACKを重ねる。
13ozのセルビッジストレッチデニムに生まれるのは、平坦ではない、深い黒。
その黒を、大きな面で見せるためにつくられたのが45-WIDE。

45-WIDE.

ワイドだから、ただ太くするのではない。
ヒップから腿へ十分な分量を持たせ、ワタリを大きく取り、裾まで幅を残す。
身体から離れたまま、縦へストンと落ちる。

その一方で、レングスは必要以上に引き延ばさない。
生地を足元へ溜めてボリュームをつくるのではなく、
パンツそのものの輪郭でWIDEを見せる。

01-STRAIGHTとも、06-SLIMとも違う。
45-WIDEだけが持つのは、身体と服の間に生まれる余白。

深く染めたBLACKは、面積が広くなるほど効いてくる。
光を受けた部分と沈む部分。
一本の黒の中に、その濃淡が現れる。

太いことを見せたいわけではない。
大きな輪郭を、崩さずに立たせたい。

Californication began with BLACK DENIM.
Its first collection was created in collaboration with Alto e Diritto.

BLACK is layered once again over yarn-dyed black.
The result is a 13oz selvedge stretch denim with a deep, dimensional black rather than a flat one.
45-WIDE was created to show that black across a larger surface.

45-WIDE.

Wide does not simply mean making it bigger.
There is generous volume through the hips and thighs, with width maintained all the way to the hem.
The silhouette falls straight down, away from the body.

At the same time, the length is kept under control.
The volume is not created by letting excess fabric pool around the feet.
The WIDE silhouette comes from the shape of the trousers themselves.

Different from both 01-STRAIGHT and 06-SLIM.
What belongs uniquely to 45-WIDE is the space created between the body and the garment.

The deeper the BLACK, the more it reveals itself across a wider surface.
Areas that catch the light.
Areas that sink into shadow.
Different depths appear within a single black.

The point is not simply to look wide.
It is to hold a larger silhouette without losing its shape.
